Rate Adjustment Notice
The Board of Directors of the Municipal Authority, Borough of Midland approved an adjustment to water and wastewater rates effective July 1, 2026, reflected on the July 2026 bill.
The first year’s increase is 4%. For a downtown residential customer with a 5/8-inch meter, the combined monthly minimum is $57.06 for the first 2,500 gallons, approximately $2.19 more per month. The cost per gallon above the minimum remains the same. High service areas and larger meters have different monthly fees.
Planned minimum-rate adjustments
- July 2026–June 2027: 4%
- July 2027–June 2028: 5%
- July 2028–June 2029: 5%
- July 2029–June 2030: 3%
- July 2030–June 2031: 0%
The Authority cites improvements to treatment plants, storage tanks, main lines and pump stations; repayment of previous-project debt; increased operating costs; and environmental compliance.
